On Tuesday night, a dinner was had for the providers of Whidbey CareNet and the South Whidbey EMS folks.  What a great group of people!  It was nice to see such a diverse crowd come together with one thing in common – caring.

Following a string of fatalities in the South Whidbey community, it was realized that though the families of the victims received much support, the emergency responders were being overlooked.  You might think, but it’s their job. They should be used to it. How do you get used to death?  Whidbey CareNet was created to give back to these people – many of whom are volunteers – who work so hard to help their community members in life or death situations.

Tuesday’s dinner was meant to bring these two groups – the Care providers and the EMS responders – together.  So that each could meet each other and realize that they’re all in this together.  They all care. They all want to help.  Think about that.  A room full of people who care so selflessly.  It was a great place to be.  It was an honour to photograph.
